This role will support the Cadre Donor Project, a project incubated by Working Families Power to develop wealthy people into organizers who understand how change actually happens and can organize other wealthy people into building independent political power. This role will include research, training preparation, base-building organizing, and administrative work. This position requires a high degree of organization as well as interest in political education.
This is a temporary, part-time role (30 hours/week) from mid-September 2024 through early July 2025.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research variety of texts and other types of media to support the research needed to develop political education within the project, including on subjects such as how do different communities debrief and learn lessons from experiences, the lineages of wealthy people playing important roles in historical change, and more
  • Shadow and assist and, over time, begin to lead facilitation at meetings and events
  • Assist with the development of training curriculum
  • Own the logistical coordination of meetings, events, and retreats, such as food, location, and materials
  • Support the leadership development of participants in each cohort
  • As needed, engage in structure-based base-building organizing, including introductory 1:1s, assessment, and maintaining lists

Skills & Qualifications

  • Introductory experience with base-building organizing
  • Excellent reading, research, and writing skills
  • Able to reflect on and describe the impact of one’s own identities—and those of others—in a given situation, decision, or process. Able to hear, reflect, act on, and learn from feedback re: identity and equity.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to keep track of multiple projects at once
  • Interest in or introductory experience with philanthropic world

What Else Should You Know

  • Compensation: The final salary for this role will be determined based on our Pay Scale, which takes into consideration years of experience, geographic location, and final job description. The upper end of the salary range is reserved for individuals who significantly exceed the minimum qualifications and years of experience. The final annualized salary offer will fall into one of the following ranges depending on where you live (these ranges assume a part time, 30/hr work week):
  • National Market (most locations): $38,475 to $48,510
  • High Market (e.g., Ithaca): $43,470 to $52,860
  • Very High Market (e.g., New York City, Westchester County): $47,250 to $57,750
  • The locations listed above are just examples and not an exhaustive list.

  • Location: The position is part-time, temporary and based in New York, NY. Some limited travel will be required.
  • Schedule and End date: This is a part time role scheduled for 30 hours per week. The role will end on July 11, 2025.
  • Union Affiliation: WFP is a unionized workplace. This is a non-managerial role, eligible to join WFP’s staff Union after six months of employment. WFP's union employees are represented by the New York Metropolitan Area Joint Board, Workers United union.
