<h2>Current opportunities at OpenSecrets:</h2> <ul> </ul> <h2 id="director">Executive Director</h2> <p>OpenSecrets seeks an Executive Director to lead a vital organization in providing the data and analysis to create a more vibrant, representative, and accountable democracy.</p> <p> </p> <p>OpenSecrets seeks to provide comprehensive and objective data and analysis unrivaled in quality and use ability to journalists, policymakers, scholars, advocates, and the general public. The Executive Director will lead OpenSecrets, serving as the national face of the organization, offering a compelling vision to funders, staff, political leaders, and the media. The Executive Director will implement a strategy to prioritize and maximize the organization’s impact including through fostering strong coalitions with a variety of partners and allies. They will ensure the ongoing and unrivaled technical quality and use ability of its data. They will define a strategic financial plan for the organization that ensures continued financial support from new and existing funders. And they will lead and attract a world class staff of 32 (and growing!). The Foundation Manager will play a pivotal role in securing the necessary funding to support our mission-driven work. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing foundation funding, grant management, cultivating relationships with institutional funders, and contributing to the growth and sustainability of our organization.</p> <h3>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h3> <ul> <li>Support the overall institutional giving program by preparing and writing grant proposals, solicitations, letters of intent, and reports in accordance with funder guidelines.</li> <li>Review and enhance proposals and reports through critiquing, editing, proofreading, and formatting for review by leadership and relevant program staff.</li> <li>Develop and manage a portfolio of institutional prospects, with a focus on identifying OpenSecrets programs and initiatives that align with funders' interests.</li> <li>Effectively cultivate, solicit, and steward funders, ensuring the execution of deliverables.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with internal program staff and researchers to gather information from multiple initiatives for grant applications, proposals, and reports.</li> <li>Generate monthly budget variance reports and maintain updated revenue/pipeline tracking to meet revenue goals.</li> <li>Implement recognition benefits across the organization and ensure fulfillment with funders.</li> <li>Maintain detailed records of funder interactions and prospect activities in records, files, and EveryAction database.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission and goals.</li> </ul> <h3>QUALIFICATIONS:</h3> <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years experience in a nonprofit setting, in the area of grants management, grant-writing, foundation relations, and fundraising.</li> <li>Proficient in GoogleDrive, GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets.</li> <li>Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.</li> <li>Strong project management and organizational abilities.</li> <li>Proficiency in budget tracking and financial reporting.</li> <li>Collaborative and team-oriented approach.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree.</li> <li>Familiarity with EveryAction donor management software.</li> <li>Established relationships with funders in the field (preferred).</li> <li>Familiarity with issues related to money in politics is a plus.</li> </ul> <h3>HOW TO APPLY:</h3> <p><strong>People of diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.</strong> OpenSecrets is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organizational culture. The Data Engineer will be responsible for helping build and maintain our data systems.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Implementing methods to improve data reliability and quality</li> <li>Analyzing raw data and implementing that data into our system using data pipelines</li> <li>Troubleshooting data errors and pipeline issues</li> </ul> <h3>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</h3> <ul> <li>Experience working with and analyzing large datasets, equivalent to 2-3 years in a similar position</li> <li>Proven ability to build complex data pipelines using Snowpipe and SSIS</li> <li>The ability to work with diverse populations</li> <li>Experience with MSSQL Server and Snowflake</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of ANSI SQL</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</h3> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects both independently and as a member of a team</li> <li>Snowflake SnowPro Data Engineer certification</li> <li>Experience with Apache Spark</li> <li>Experience with machine learning matching models</li> <li>Knowledge of and interest in American government and money in politics.</li> </ul> <h3>SALARY AND BENEFITS:</h3> <ul> <li>Salary range is $80,000-100,000/year.</li> <li>We are a fully remote organization and this person can be based anywhere in the U.S.</li> <li>OpenSecrets offers an excellent benefits package, including full medical, dental, 403(b) match, generous vacation and sick leave, and all federal holidays paid.</li> </ul> <h3>HOW TO APPLY:</h3> <p><strong>People of diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.</strong> OpenSecrets is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organizational culture.
