The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for managing IRAP’s accounting systems and processes, including overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements, developing and maintaining internal controls, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and accuracy of accounting operations for a $30M 501(c)(3) organization with the offices in the US, Germany, Jordan, and Lebanon.
The Senior Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Vice-President of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the organizational day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, monetary disbursements, invoicing/billing, payroll, fixed asset records, and general ledger.
- Manage all closing processes, from preparation to completion, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, working with the IRAP Finance team, international offices, and an external accounting firm.
- Sustain/Develop an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, audit requirements and IRAP’s policies.
- Coordinate an annual audit and Form 990 preparation.
- Assist the Senior VP of Finance in a budgeting process and implementation of the new accounting and financial systems and processes.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to other personnel and departments when needed.
- Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree is preferred.
- CPA or CPA Candidate is preferred, CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of progressive non-profit accounting and financial management experience, including oversight of accounting functional areas as a manager or Assistant Controller.
- Experience with international organizations/offices.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and Concur is highly desired.
- Experience with Google Suite and an advanced level of Excel is highly desired.
