This part-time internship is a remote role and will be 10-25 hours per week.

Common Cause Wisconsin is launching its Media + Tech Pillar, a new initiative focused on helping communities engage with AI, misinformation, and civic access to information. This intern will support the launch from day one: owning social media content, providing project support to Tech Pillar, and helping coordinate an 8-district statewide listening tour.

Responsibilities

    • Create and publish 3–5 social media posts per week (graphics, reels, carousels, stories) on democracy + tech topics, listening tour updates, and educational content

    • Maintain project trackers, draft agendas, take meeting notes, and produce action-item recaps for the Tech Pillar build-out

    • Coordinate logistics for the 8-district listening tour: venue outreach, registration (Eventbrite), volunteer recruitment, toolkits, and run-of-show materials

    • Conduct research and write short briefs, memos, and newsletter/blog drafts supporting tour conversations and webinars

    • Help produce end-of-summer deliverables: a Listening Tour Summary, a Tech Pillar content library, and a Fall programming roadmap

Skills You’ll Build

    • Strategic communications: translating complex tech/democracy topics into clear, public-facing content

    • Content planning: managing a content calendar and approval workflow

    • Project management: trackers, timelines, agendas, and action items

    • Event & field coordination: statewide logistics, venue partners, RSVPs, and volunteers

    • Professional collaboration: working with senior leaders in a mission-driven environment

Qualifications:

    • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams

    • A clear writer who can adapt their voice for different audiences

    • Interested in democracy, technology policy, or community organizing

    • Experience with Canva, Eventbrite, or Google Workspace is a plus — not required
