Pennsylvania Internship
Common Cause
This part-time internship is a hybrid role located in Harrisburg, PA and will be 15-20 hours per week. You will report to the State Director, Pennsylvania.
Common Cause is seeking an intern to work with our team in Pennsylvania relating to voting and elections, redistricting, and democracy reform. Interns will assist with advocacy campaigns, grassroots engagement, research, policy development, communications, and/or member outreach and events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a commitment to a fair and transparent democracy, and who is interested in learning more about government affairs and the legislative process.
Skills you will build and work you will be involved in:
- Legislative research, bill tracking, and policy analysis related to Election Protection Program
- Supporting Action Team volunteer recruitment and coalition outreach
- Drafting communications, graphics, social media content, and advocacy materials
- Assisting with Election Protection organizing and voter engagement efforts
- Investigative research on local redistricting
Qualifications:
- A passion for learning about elections, organizing, and the legislative process
- A desire and an ability to work in a non-partisan manner
- A willingness to build your organizational skills and attention to detail
- A willingness to build your writing and listening skills
- A willingness to learn new skills
